A holistic health consultation includes acupressure, dietetics and flower essences. Other modalities may include moxibustion, gua sha, and energy medicine.

Acupressure is an ancient healing art that predates acupuncture by about 2000 years. Acupressure uses fingers to press key points on the body (acupoints) in order to stimulate the body’s natural self-healing abilities and encourage the free-flow of energy (chi, life force) in the body. Applying pressure on these points releases muscular tension, increases circulation, as well as stimulates the lymphatic system and hormonal glands. Acupressure is based on Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), in which the practitioner determines the energetic imbalances of the internal organs and chooses the appropriate acupoints to correct the imbalance.

Acupressure can help with:

  • Digestive problems
  • Menstrual cycle imbalances
  • Anxiety, stress, nervousness, depression
  • Insomnia, sleeping problems
  • Frequent colds & flus, asthma, respiratory problems, allergies
  • Fertility, support during pregnancy
  • Eczema, psoriasis and other skin issues
  • Chronic or acute pain (sciatica, nerve pain, back, neck, shoulders, etc.)
  • Headaches & migraines
  • Fatigue, burnout, low energy
  • and more!

In Traditional Chinese Medicine, the food we eat is an essential part of cultivating and maintaining health, and often the source of imbalances in the body. Foods have an energetic temperature and nature that have a specific action on the body. It’s not only what you eat but when and where your food is grown, how it is prepared, when and how it is consumed, which all affect the homeostasis of the body, mind, and emotions. In a holistic consultation, we’ll explore your relationship with food. By assessing what elements of your diet are potential stressors, what foods to remove and to include, how and when to eat, we’ll come up with a plan to balance your constitution as well as current imbalances.

Flower essences

Flower essences are are liquid, plant preparations made from the fresh flower blossoms of plants that imprint water with their energetic patterning. They support emotional well-being, uplift moods and help to manage stress. In a holistic consultation, a guided practice of mindfulness and somatic based dialogue can uncover some of the limiting beliefs, states of mind and emotions that are in the way of wellness. From this, selected flower essences are combined into a personalized blend to support you on a daily basis.

I’ve been seeing Janine for the past 7 months because I had brought my body to a state of imbalance that was manifesting in many ways. Right from the start I noticed how extremely different it is to see her compared to traditional western doctors. She asked so many questions about my body, eating habits, sleep, emotions, thoughts, etc. I really felt like she had me, like I could just relax and trust her knowledge and her wisdom. I have seen significant improvements since I have started my healing path with her. My sessions with Janine always have a profound effect on me. I feel nourished, inspired and healed on many levels: physical, emotional, mental. Seeing Janine is, for me, a way to respect my body, give it importance and space to heal.

Janine is a great healer. She is very knowledgeable and confident in what she does. She creates a wonderful space that makes you feel very safe to share, heal and transform. I am definitely a fan.
